Know a scam when you see it

The guys name is Katlego Mapetla. He approaches victims with promises of turning them into an influencer and motivational/sme speaker. When it comes time to the contract, you are essentially promising to pay a monthly agency fee without any reciprocal promises of the work to be done or contingencies for failure to perform on the part of the agent.

This dude approached me and told me about this great idea for solar panels. He had a lot of data points and convinced me to invest. He has since not answered my calls. Very dodge

This guy reached out to me on fb regarding an item I was selling. He had asked me to keep it aside for him and he would pay me extra for it. Then he sends his cousin to meet me somewhere to confirm that the item is real and offers to make immediate payment. I did not receive the payment and he claimed it was because I was with a different bank and that his was a business account etc. He sent me a proof of payment. The payment was not real in any way. I said I would not give the item until the payment had cleared. At which point the cousin was getting annoyed and said he needed to go back to work. Luckily I was persistent. We eventually went to the bank to confirm the payment and while I was talking with a person there the cousin had disappeared. [Reported type: Facebook marketplace purchase]

Creators receive messages claiming they qualify for TikTok monetisation or a creator fund. They are asked to pay a registration fee or provide login details. The funds and accounts are stolen.

An account claiming to be Instagram support offers a verified badge for a fee. Victims pay but never receive verification and lose control of their account details.

An email or SMS claims an international parcel is held at customs and requires a small customs or clearance fee. The payment link is fake and steals card details.
